Last night, I woke every hour on the hour. As I scroll through Facebook until the monotony lulls me back to sleep, I remind myself I have drawn a blank in this week’s column.
I roll over in bed and pray, “Dear God, what should I write about?”
In the morning, I take Henry and Max, my two Newfoundland dogs, for their morning walk.
Again, I ask, “Dear God, what should I write about?”
And within my heart, I hear a whisper, “Why do you love me?”
Immediately I want to brush the question aside. Surely there is something broader, less intimate than writing about that.
From the moment I attend my first Sunday school class as a child, I learn Jesus loves me, proof in the words of the familiar song:
Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so Little ones to him belong They are weak, but he is strong Yes Jesus loves me Oh, yes Jesus loves me Yes Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so
And so I accept that Jesus loves me. And I agree with…
